Q & A for A Better Way Therapy

Get Started ButtonI have never been in therapy…how do I get started?

You can either click on our get started button and share some basic information so we know a bit about you and match you with a therapist or call Bruce directly and he can guide you through the process.

How much will therapy cost?

If you have insurance that covers mental health issues, your insurance should cover much of the cost. If you have a deductible, that has to be met first. Most insurance companies have co-pays that need to be paid for each session. Some insurance companies pay the entire cost. Just call your insurance company to see what your share is. If you need help with this, call us.

Do you accept cash or checks payments?

Yes we do. Call to see what it would cost for your sessions.

Do you accept Medicaid?

Yes we do. And, did you know that if you have Medicaid, your therapy is free to you?

Do you accept Medicare?

Unfortunately, we do not. But if you have Medicaid as well or other insurance as well, we usually can make it work.

What insurances do you accept?

Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tricare and several others. We are out of network for United Health Care so you’d have to check if they will help pay for therapy. Call us on all other insurances.

I read about several therapists in your meet the team section. Can I call them directly to start therapy?

You can. Or you can click on the Let’s get started button and on that form state if you have a preference for therapists and we try to make it happen, or give Bruce a call.

Do you do Christian Therapy?

We do have a few therapists that would love to do therapy based on Christian values.

There are many places available that do therapy. Why should I go with one of A Better Way Therapy’s therapists?

You should go with the therapists that you feel most comfortable with. We just want you to get the help you need. We have great therapists, but if you find someone you like better elsewhere, go with them. It’s all up to you.

I see you do in-home therapy, does that cost more?

It’s the same cost as those that come to our office for therapy. In-home therapy is often good to see the family in their own setting. It makes it easier to get everyone participating if family therapy is needed.

Is there a waiting list? How long before therapy can start?

We have been able to assign you a therapist within 24 hours and usually get started within a week.

Do you work with drug and/or alcohol issues?

We offer many services. We have several therapists that are dually credentialed which means they are licensed to deal with both mental health as well as chemical dependency/abuse issues. We offer the following services:

a) Drug and alcohol evaluations … Our therapists do testing that can determine how much of a problem drugs or alcohol plays in someone’s life. We also do court ordered evaluations

b) Drug/alcohol education…. Individually or in a group, click on meet the team and call Shawn Medrano for times and cost.

c) Group and individual therapy. Some people want to come on their own, some are court ordered.
